We have already been talking about the Undo and Redo buttons – they are now on the left of the Home ribbon. Besides just showing buttons in the Quick Access Toolbar you can from now on also display labels with the function name.
The Undo button on the Quick Access Toolbar of Excel enables you to revert the worksheet to a previous state before making an accidental or intentional change. By default, the Undo icon is above the Draw tab on the ribbon menu and near the Save button of the worksheet.
You can redo the actions by either using the shortcut CTRL+Y (on a PC) / CMD+Y (on a Mac) or by pressing the Redo button (next to the Undo button) in the Quick Access Toolbar.
Press + Z, or select Undo in the upper-left corner of the ribbon, until you've fixed the issue. You can't undo some actions, such as selecting commands on the File menu or saving a file. If you can't undo an action, the Undo command changes to Can't Undo.
It is an essential feature that helps users correct mistakes and undo changes they made unintentionally. The Undo button is located on the Quick Access Toolbar in Excel and can be accessed by clicking on the icon or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Z.
Just press Ctrl + Z on your keyboard or click the Undo button in the toolbar. This will reverse the most recent action you took. If you need to go back further, you can keep pressing Ctrl + Z to undo multiple actions. Now, let’s dive deeper with a step-by-step guide.
Excel on Windows, Mac, and the web each have the Undo button which is a rounded arrow pointing left. You’ll find it in the Quick Access Toolbar on Windows and Mac and on the Home tab in Excel on the web. Use the Undo button to reverse your last action.
At the top left corner of the spreadsheet, locate the Undo button, which is represented by a curved arrow pointing to the left. Hover over the button to see a description of the action that will be undone. Click on the Undo button to revert the action. That's it!
