YouTube TV users on Reddit report seeing a $10 monthly credit applied to their bills for the next six months after losing Disney channels.
Disney’s channels will be removed from YouTube’s pay-TV platform after the two media giants failed to reach a new carriage agreement before Thursday’s midnight deadline. The blackout will leave subscribers unable to watch content from Disney networks, including ESPN, ABC, Disney Channel, FX, National Geographic and Freeform.
Disney and YouTube TV are far apart on the central issue of the price per subscriber that YouTube TV will pay Disney for its content with ESPN networks having gone dark on YouTube TV.
Many YouTube TV subscribers are switching to DirecTV Stream after losing over 20 Disney-owned channels. Redditors note that DirecTV Stream offers a larger channel library than YouTube TV, albeit at a slightly higher price.
Disney and YouTube TV are stuck in a stalemate. ESPN personalities are appealing to YouTube TV customers, but their messages might not be resonating.
